Dear
Grandma,
I was deeply sadend to hear about your passing. Especially since
you were such a great person and someone that we really cared about.
We will all miss you in this world but love you and your soul just
as strongly, if not more.
You have always meant so much to me. You were my best friend when
I was younger and often helped me through rough times. You still
do help me, even today, for your love, caring and advice still bubbles
up from within me.
Christmas 2001 was a great event. You were so cheerful, happy eating
almost like me! We all had so much fun and that is such a great
thing. It was fantastic to see you again and especially during Christmas,
a time of year that you loved so much. Oh how I love you as well
and the Christmas season as well.
For all seasons there is an end. However hard this is to digest
for some, it seemed to me that you Grandma had a great understanding
of what God has planned for us. Perhaps not the mystery itself,
but more the faith in what Jesus promises. And low and behold the
reading at church today was John 3:16, which reads,
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
ever lasting life.”
How fitting was that- almost as if you yourself had planned this
whole reading out, to reassure my faith! One only has questions
when such an event happens and you answered two for me, for I also
had always wondered what this sign was that people held up at football
games and what not... I knew it was a scripture and verse from the
Bible, but just today, at mass, the mass I attended in your honor
did these answers come flooding in!
Take care Grandma, we are thinking of you and miss you.
It is so ironic that you passed exactly 17 years after Pop, same
day! You passed at 7:00am, he went forth at 7:30am and in the same
hospital! See you one day Mom#2 and Pop- I LOVE YOU!
Ecclesiastes
3:
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose
under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time
to pluck up that which is planted;
... ... ...
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing
can be put to it,
nor any thing taken from it:
and God doeth it,that men should fear before him.
15
That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already
been;
and God requireth that which is past.
